CC Pinckney Elementary School is located on the US Army Training Center at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina.
Students who are enrolled at CC Pinckney are dependents of military personnel at Fort Jackson, and the school is funded by the Department of Defense. C. C. Pinckney Elementary School is one of two elementary schools located on Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. Our school provides educational services to approximately 330 children in grades 2 - 6 who live here on post in permanent quarters. We are a school within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Americas region. We are very proud of our school and the many wonderful learning opportunities and programs available for our entire learning community. We invite you to visit our school and meet our outstanding teachers and staff.
Our Namesake - Charles Cotesworth Pinckney
Our school is named after Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, who was an attorney and politician who served as an officer in the First South Carolina Regiment in defense of Charleston, S. C., the battle of Brandywine, the battle of Germantown and campaigns in the Floridas and Savannah in the American Revolution. He was a leader at the Constitutional Convention and a signer of the US Constitution.
