C.C. Pinckney Elementary School is bringing festive cheer to the Fort Jackson community with its annual Festival of Trees, a holiday tradition showcasing the creativity and academic achievements of students in grades 2 through 6.

Each grade level sponsored and decorated a tree based on a unique social studies theme aligned with DoDEA College and Career Ready Standards, transforming the school into a winter wonderland of learning and imagination.

Second-graders honored local heroes by creating ornaments celebrating community difference-makers.

Third-graders explored global citizenship, incorporating folktales, art, music, dance and literature to represent a variety of cultures.

Fourth-graders illustrated the landforms of U.S. regions, highlighting America's varied geography from mountains to plains.

Fifth-graders compared and contrasted early English colonies, focusing on key features, historical events and contributions from the 17th century to the development of the 13 original colonies.

Sixth-graders delved into the geography and history of the Eastern Hemisphere, showcasing cultures, civilizations, empires, governments and economics.

The event was planned and executed by the school's Communication and Engagement Committee in collaboration with teachers.

The Fort Jackson community is invited to visit C.C. Pinckney Elementary School to view the display, celebrate the season and appreciate the students' work.
